Super Smash Bros.: Super Mario Maker stage to be released on September 30th

This morning, Nintendo made a surprise announcement, out of the blue: Super Mario Maker is coming soon to… Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS! On September 30th, a new stage will be available as (paid) DLC, based on Super Mario Maker. The stage will be randomised, with the “hand” building it at the start. Of course, it will be available on both the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS.

The price of this Super Mario Maker stage will be:

  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U OR Nintendo 3DS: 300 Yen / $2.49 / CA$ 3.19 / £ 2.29 / 2,49 € / 3,50 CHF
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U AND Nintendo 3DS: 400 Yen / $3.49 / CA$ 4.39 / £ 3.19 / 3,49 € / 4,90 CHF

Here’s a trailer and some screenshots for the Super Mario Maker stage in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS:

This announcement most likely means that more downloadable content for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS (such as additional stages, costumes for the Mii Fighters, and maybe some new characters) will be released on September 30th, along with a new Software update. We should get a confirmation within the next two weeks!
