Super Smash Bros.: Nintendo aware of the Mewtwo glitch, working on a patch

Yesterday, Nintendo released a brand new Software update (1.0.6.), allowing people who had registered both versions of Super Smash Bros. on Club Nintendo to download Mewtwo (thanks to a download code). Unfortunately, it looks like Mewtwo didn’t come alone, and was accompanied by a nasty bug corrupting save data, and therefore preventing people from playing any of the online modes.

This bug is happening when you play any of the Single Player modes (on the Nintendo 3DS or Wii U version) with Mewtwo. Nintendo just sent out a press release, informing players that the developers are aware of the bug and are currently working on a patch. This patch will be launched as soon as possible, and Nintendo will announce its release date in the upcoming days.

In the mean time, Nintendo recommends players not to use Mewtwo in any of the Single Player modes on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS (Classic, All-Stars, Stadium, Trophy Rush, Smash Run). However, Smash, online play and Smash Tour aren’t impacted, so you can play those with Mewtwo without triggering the glitch.

If you have already played one of the Single Player modes with Mewtwo, there is unfortunately nothing to be done right now (except wait for the patch to be released).
