Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns gets a new trailer, a release date (NA), and some screens

Released in June in Japan, Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns is the latest entry in the original Bokujo Monogatari / Harvest Moon series. If you can’t wait to get back to the farm, here’s some good news for you: the game is basically complete, and ready for release. When will that release take place, exactly? Well, much earlier than you’d expect: next month!

Today, XSEED announced that Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns would be released on February 28th in North America, where it will cost $39.99. As with the vast majority of XSEED releases, it will be available both on the Nintendo eShop and at retail. Speaking of retail release, don’t forget that launch copies comes with a pocket plushie based on the loveable capybara (the new in-game pet).

XSEED also reminds us that Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns features some special costume, based on famous Nintendo / Super Mario characters (no, they were not removed during localisation!). Naturally, those costumes are not just for show, they also give you a nice bonus gameplay-wise!

Here’s the 4 Nintendo costumes to be found in Story of Seasons: Trio of Towns on Nintendo 3DS:

• Mario’s Outfit and Hat: Mama mia! The iconic plumber’s signature red and blue uniform gives your running speed a boost.
• Luigi’s Outfit and Hat: Luigi’s costume will improve your luck at fishing. Others will be green with envy!
• Princess Peach’s Dress and Tiara: This regal dress and tiara will make you better friends with other characters. Sweet!
• Toad’s Outfit and Hat: The tireless Toad’s outfit causes your stamina to recharge automatically over time.
