SteamWorld Heist: results of the Ambassador Challenge #6, 3D screenshots

SteamWorld Heist comes out later this year on Nintendo 3DS (then later on Wii U), but if you’re interested, you can play the game before everyone else. To do so, you simply have to become a SteamWorld Ambassador. How to become one? Well, it’s quite simple: you just need to win one of Image & Form’s challenges!

SteamWorld Ambassador Challenge 6And after a little break due to the Summer holidays (even robots and people making games about robots need vacations!), Image & Form was back last week with a new SteamWorld Ambassador Challenge. This time around, fans had to come up with the name of one of the space bars in the game.

As usual, the team at Image & Form had trouble picking up one winner… which is why they picked up two instead of just one! Here’s the two entries that were selected:

  • “The King’s Daisy” by Hobbit Peate Donohue. This will be name of the bar we described last week.
  • “Die Tankstelle” by Monsieur Matou. This name just happened to be perfect for another space bar for story reasons. You’ll have to play the game to find out why 😉

Those two Ambassadors will get:

– exclusive info before launch;
– download codes for the game (before launch).

But that’s not all! Image & Form also revealed six brand new screenshots for SteamWorld Heist on Nintendo 3DS. The best thing? They’re in 3D (only via your Nintendo 3DS, obviously): you can scan the QR Code in the pics below, or check out the source for direct links!

Those new screenshots showcase “a new enemy type, new environments, a cutscene sample and new gameplay elements”:

screenshot 1: shows Captain Piper firing at a Royalist Military Grunt (one of the factions in the game);
screenshot 2: shows Captain Piper aiming at some Scrappers. According to the developers, very few weapons have a laser sight in the game;
screenshot 3: shows Seabrass about to take a bullet to the foot;
screenshot 4: shows a bullet proof, that the Royalist faction often uses;
screenshot 5: shows the bridge of Captain Piper’s spaceship. Good news: you DO get to control it in the game, and you can even chose which ships to board for a heist;
screenshot 6: shows one of the narrated cutscenes (there’s plenty of them in the game, apparently). This scene portrays the violence and vandalism of the Scrappers.

SteamWorld Heist (3DS eShop) comes out this Fall in Europe and North America. The Wii U version will come a later date.
