Splatoon 2: Nintendo Switch bundle (w. Neon Green / Pink Joy-Cons) out next month in North America

Alongside the game itself, Nintendo released a Nintendo Switch bundle for Splatoon 2 last month in Europe and Japan:

  • in Japan, it comes with Neon Green and Neon Pink Joy-Cons, and a physical copy of the game.
  • in Europe, it comes with Neon Blue and Neon Red Joy-Cons, and a digital copy of the game.

Surprisingly, Nintendo of America didn’t announce or release anything for North America, and only the special Nintendo Switch Pro Controller made it to that region. But due to positive reception of the bundles in Europe and Japan, Nintendo decided to also release a Nintendo Switch bundle for Splatoon 2 in North America.

And that bundle is almost the same as the one for Japan, but with a digital copy of the game instead of a physical one, and a carrying case for the main unit. Here’s the contents of this bundle:

  • Nintendo Switch console
  • Neon Green and Neon Pink Joy-Cons (it will be the first time those will be available in North America. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like a stand-alone release is planned yet)
  • Splatoon 2 carrying case
  • Download code for Splatoon 2

This new bundle will cost $379.99, and will only be available at Walmart stores from September 8th in the United States, and September 14th in Canada. Here’s some pictures:

In the press release, Nintendo also shared a pretty interesting stat: over 400 million online battles have already taken place. The game has now sold over 1 million units, but that was pretty obvious: it’s already sold over 800 000 units in Japan alone!

Finally, the next Splatfest for Europe and North America has been announced: check out this post for more details!

The Upcoming Games, and the list of Nintendo Switch models/bundles have both been updated!
