Spain: Software and Hardware sales for 2023

Gamereactor has shared sales data for the video games market in Spain in 2023, and it confirms that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was a big hit with over 300 000 units sold. It’s also the best-selling game in the country (individual SKUs-only)!

Super Mario Bros. Wonder is off to a great start with over 200 000 units sold between launch and the end of the year. As for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, despite turning 6 years old back in April, it still managed to sell more than many notable releases and rank #4.

Nintendo Switch Sports also enjoyed strong sales and managed to land at #5, just behind Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

And looking at the sales of EA Sports FC 24 (133.000 units sold on Nintendo Switch, only slightly less than the PlayStation 5 version), one cannot help but think that Electronic Arts definitely left quite a lot of money on the table with its re-releases of FIFA 28 disguised as “Legacy Editions” throughout the past few years. Quite clearly, the audience for a full-fledged FIFA game on Nintendo was there. All versions combined sold 550.000 units.

The rest of the Top 15 Software is made of familiar evergreen titles like Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Minecraft, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and even Super Mario Odyssey (no doubt helped by the Super Mario Bros. Movie).
