Sonic Forces: new Drill Wispon and Chemical Plant stage revealed

As weeks go by, and the release of Sonic Forces draws ever nearer, SEGA keeps on regularly revealing new elements from the game. Today, we have a look at a new Wispon: the Drill Wispon.

For those of you who forgot, the Wispons are the evolution of the Color Powers from Sonic Colours. They can be used either as offensive tools, or as a mean to go through levels even more quickly. And it’s your Hero Character (the custom character you can create yourself using the in-game editor) that gets to use those very handy tools.

The Drill Wispon can be used in two ways:

  • you can use it to drill dash on the ground, and climb walls
  • you can charge and launch it, to smash through and destroy enemies

Finally, the new stage is called “Chemical Plant”, and it’s one where you get to use the Drill Wispon.

Here’s the latest batch of screenshots for the game:

By the way, for your daily dose of Sonic Forces, make sure to check out this post we launched earlier today. It features the various details, pictures, videos and GIFs from the game’s official Twitter account in Japan. It’s unlikely to have anything really new, but that’s something else to help you wait until the game is finally available!

Sonic Forces (Switch) comes out on November 7th in Europe and North America, and November 9th in Europe and North America.
