Shin Megami Tensei V localisation already confirmed

Back in January, during the Nintendo Switch Presentation, Atlus showed a teaser trailer for a mysterious Shin Megami Tensei game, simply known as “HD project”. No title was given, no release window, no actual footage from the game… nothing at all until October 23rd, when Atlus revealed that it was Shin Megami Tensei V.

That announcement was only for Japa, but it looks like western fans have nothing to worry about. Earlier today, Atlus USA announced that Shin Megami Tensei V was indeed headed to Europe and North America, though they didn’t say when… no surprise, since we don’t even know when it will be released in Japan in the first place!

Atlus USA did reveal a teaser trailer, but it’s just a localised version of the Japanese trailer:

Naturally, Atlus USA didn’t have anything else to announce today: no additional details or anything. This hardly comes as a surprise though, since Atlus (in Japan) hasn’t revealed anything else since the October 23rd reveal.

One thing’s for sure: it’s certainly a good sign that Shin Megami Tensei V has already been confirmed for Europe and North America (though it would have been surprising for the game not to be localised, given Atlus USA localises pretty much all their games from Japan, even niche titles). Hopefully, that’s a sign western fans will not have to wait too long following the Japanese release!
