The covers for the novel adaptations of Return to Shironagasu Island (out on September 29th in Japan) reveal that the adventure game has now sold over 150 000 units worldwide. Unfortunately, no regional or platform breakdown is provided.

Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

The press release for the mobile adaptation of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana reveals that the original game has now sold over 600 000 units worldwide since launch. No regional or platform breakdown is provided, but the press release does mention that the Nintendo Switch version has kept selling after launch, which seems to indicate it contributed significantly to total sales.

Needy Streamer Overload

During a presentation at CEDEC 2023, the president of Ryu’s Office (the company in charge of marketing) shared some interesting details about the sales of WSS Playground’s smash hit, Needy Streamer Overload.

We already knew that the game has already sold over 1 million units worldwide as of June 30th, but during that presentation, it was announced that sales have now surpassed 1.2 million units (as of July 27th). That’s 200 000 units in just one month!

But what’s particularly interesting is the regional breakdown of sales. The game was designed with the Japanese audience in mind, and yet, the country where it sold the most is… China, with over 50% of sales!

China: 612,279 units sold
Japan: 131,936 units sold
Americas: 113,911 units sold
South Korea: 45,187 units sold
Other: 310,622 units sold
Total: 1,217,935 units sold

Unfortunately, no platform breakdown is provided, but given the weight of China in total sales, there’s little doubt Steam is the leading platform.

Blasphemous

According to Nerkin Pixel (one of pixel artists who worked on the two Blasphemous games), the first Blasphemous game has now sold nearly 2.5 million units worldwide, across all platforms. A pretty nice milestone to celebrate the launch of the second game!
