Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin

Marvelous have announced that total shipments for Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin have exceeded 500 000 units worldwide. That number includes total shipments for the retail release, but also digital sales, and Steam sales. Unfortunately, no regional or platform breakdown is provided.

Given such a strong debut, it’s quite likely that Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin will become a million-seller before the end of the year. After all, word of mouth is quite strong at the moment.

Momotarou Dentetsu: Shouwa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban!

Konami have confirmed that Momotarou Dentetsu: Shouwa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! has now sold over 500 000 units since launch in Japan. That number includes retail sales but also digital sales via the Nintendo eShop.

With such a strong opening, the game has already outsold the previous entry on Nintendo 3DS, and isn’t far from outselling the last entry on Wii:

  • Momotaro Dentetsu 2017: Tachiagare Nippon!! (Nintendo 3DS) – 132 064 units at launch, and 422 834 units LTD
  • Momotaro Dentetsu 2010: Sengoku Ishin no Hero Daishūgō! No Maki (Wii) – 663 644 units LTD (including the budget re-release)

Right now, there’s little doubt it will become the best-selling entry in the series, beating Momotaro Dentetsu 7 (on the original PlayStation) with 770 173 units sold LTD. In fact, it’s more than likely to become a million-seller before the end of the year!
