Quest of Dungeons releasing on September 29th in Europe (Wii U), update on 3DS version

Last week, it was announced that Quest of Dungeons would not be released on September 1st, as initially planned/hinted at. But when is the game coming out then? The answer is: September 29th in Europe and North America… but on Wii U only. It looks Upfall Studios gave up on a simulatneous release for both the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, but the game remains cross-buy at least! The game will cost $8.99 / 8.99€ / £7.99.

About the Wii U version, here’s the three ways you can play it:

  • Off-TV mode: you can play the game on the GamePad, without a TV screen;
  • TV-Only: you can play exclusively on the TV screen (with everything on a single screen, like the PC version). You can use either the Wii U GamePad or the Wii U Pro Controller;
  • Mixed: you play on the TV screen, with the GamePad displaying a Minimap and touch Inventory.

Here’s a trailer and some screenshots for the Wii U version of Quest of Dungeons:

If you’re wondering what happened to the Nintendo 3DS version, it’s pretty simple: it was delayed. Releasing both versions in both regions proved a tad trickier than expected, especially for a one-man team. Right now, the developer is busy fixing some last minute issues with the game. The Nintendo 3DS version should follow closely after the Wii U version, and will be released simultaneously in Europe and North America.

About cross-buy: you will get the Nintendo 3DS version for free even if you buy the Wii U version before the former is even out. Of course, you will need to use the same Nintendo Network ID on both consoles for that!

Quest of Dungeons (Wii U eShop) comes out on September 29th in Europe and North America. The Nintendo 3DS version will follow shortly after. Our Upcoming Releases page has been updated.
