Puzzle & Dragons X: first official screenshots and additional details

Puzzle & Dragons XAnnounced last week in CoroCoro magazine, Puzzle & Dragons X was officially revealed by GungHo today. The company revealed some additional details about the game, as well as the very first official screenshots. They show a full 3D overworld, which is quite the improvement compared to Puzzle & Dragons Z (which had a 2D overworld).

GungHo reveals that the game takes place on an island called Dragoza/Dragozer Island, rich in “drop energy”. At the beginning, you can chose to play as either a boy or a girl. As for the monsters, there’s over 500 of them in the game, and many of them can evolve and become even stronger.

As mentioned previously, your character can wear special armor, imbued with the power of your monsters, which allows him/her to use skills in battle. The gameplay system remains unchanged, with the same 5 elements fans of the smartphone game and/or Puzzle & Dragons Z/Super Mario Bros. Edition know well: fire, water, wood, light and darkness.

Finally, some more news. GungHo revealed that Puzzle & Dragons X whould be showcased at the World Hobby Fair ’16 Winter, in January. Also, a special manga is going to run in CoroCoro magazine.

Puzzle & Dragons X (3DS) comes out next year in Japan.
