PokéNews (March 1): Pokémon GO / Pokémon Duel update / Figures and cushions

Today’s Pokémon news: details on upcoming changes/features coming to Pokémon GO, but also…

  • Pokémon no Uchi Atsumaru?!

Pokémon GO

During a panel at the Game Developer Conference, Niantic shared some details about Pokémon GO, such as upcoming changes and new features coming “soon” to Pokémon GO. But first, a pretty impressive number: since launch, Pokémon GO has been download over 650 million times!

In the final version of the game, you can create your very own trainer, and customise it to your liking (with even more clothing options added with the latest major update). But originally, the developers were going with Brendan and May from Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Another scrapped feature is real-time weather, but also gradual night > day cycle. The good news is, the developers haven’t quite given up on those, and they intend to implement them in a future update. Niantic also plans to hold giant events similar to the Ingresss Portals events, but nothing has been announced so far.

Here’s some pictures from the panel:
