Pokémon Trading Card Game Card Dex

Today, a new Pokémon app was soft-launched in Sweden: Pokémon Trading Card Game Card Dex. As the name indicates, it’s an app that allows you to track your collection of Pokémon cards. It’s not a game or anything: it simply allows you to scan your cards (using your smart device’s camera) to add them to your digital collection.

According to the press release, even damaged or partially obscured cards can be scanned and identified. If you scan a card in a different language, the app automatically translates it into your preferred language.

At present, the app only offers a database of cards from the Pokémon Sun & Moon series (including all expansions and promotional cards), and it’s not clear if earlier cards will eventually be added or not. You can filter cards by expansion, card type, rarity, Pokémon type, Energy type, HP, and various other options, allowing you to easily search for and discover cards to add to your collection.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Card Dex will be launched at a later date worldwide, with English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Portuguese (Brazil) as language options. It’s completely free (without any microtransactions or anything).
