Pokémon news (Sept. 2) – Pokémon Sun and Moon: soundtrack, special demo; more

Today’s Pokémon news: soundtrack album and special demo for Pokémon Sun and Moon, but also…

  • Pokémon distributions (Japan)
  • Pokémon XY & Z (anime)
  • Pokémon 20th Anniversary

Pokémon Sun and Moon

Before launch, Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire received a demo version: it was the first time ever a Pokémon game receive a public demo (not exclusive to a specific event), that anyone could download. And it looks like Pokémon Sun and Moon are also getting one!

Today, it was found out that the Korean Rating Board (equivalent of the PEGI / USK / ESRB / ACB in Korea) had rated a game called Pokémon Sun & Moon Special Trial Version. Naturally, with such a title, it’s pretty obvious this is a demo version, similar to the one Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire received.

Since it hasn’t been announced yet, we don’t know anything about it: its contents, its release date, its availability, etc. We also don’t know if there will be a little bonus for players to transfer to the full game.

Next, here’s two artworks for Pokémon Sun and Moon, including one for the Alolan Rattata:

But wait… there’s more! Today, The Pokémon Company also announced that the original soundtrack album for Pokémon Sun and Moon would be released on November 30th in Japan. The album will include 4 discs, featuring 175 tracks (+ 1 bonus track, linked to the Z Ring Toy), and will come with a 24-page booklet featuring comments and interviews of the developers/sound team.

Here’s the cover for the Pokémon Sun and Moon Super Music Complete album:

In Europe and North America, the soundtrack will be available via iTunes.

Finally, here’s the packaging for the Nintendo 2DS announced yesterday for Europe:

As a bonus, packaging of the fan edition of Pokémon Moon:

One last extra: the English version of the Pokémon Sun and Moon: Train On video (the very first Japanese trailer for the game):

Here’s some pictures for those distributions, including the clear files you can get at the Pokémon Center stores:

And here’s some merchandise to go along with the distributions:

Finally, a note about the Darkrai distribution that went live yesterday in Europe: it lasts until September 30th.
