Pokémon GO – Toho Cinemas
Over the past year, all Toho Cinemas locations across Japan worked as Poké Stops and Gyms, as part of one of the many sponsorship deals Niantic has signed with companies all around the world. Unfortunately for Japanese players, this sponsorship is coming to an end: from August 7th onwards, Toho Cinema locations will no longer serve as Poké Stops or Gyms.

Pokémon GO – Japanese events
Due to the intense heat wave, some upcoming events for Japan have been modified in order to avoid the hottest hours of the day:

- Squirtle Community Day (on August 4th): same time;
- Eevee Community Day (on August 11th and August 12th): 6PM to 9PM
