Picross S8 out next week worldwide (with demo this week), introduces multiplayer for up to 4 players

Jupiter have announced that a brand new Picross game is on the way! It’s the latest entry in the Picross S series, logically called Picross S8. Unlike Picross X: Picbits vs Uzboros, it’s getting a simultaneous release worldwide like (most) previous Picross S games before it. It will launch on September 29th, and will cost 9.99€ / $9.99 / £8.99 / HK$79 / AU$15 / W11 000.

Players who want to get an early taste of the puzzles included in Picross S8 can download a demo version from the Nintendo eShop. Said demo is already available in Japan, with Europe and North America getting it tomorrow (September 22nd).

Here’s the trailer for Picross S8:

The main new feature of Picross S8 is the multiplayer: up to 4 players can team up on a single Nintendo Switch system to solve puzzles. Naturally, each player need their own Joy-Con to be able to play.

As for puzzles, Picross S8 includes no less than 485 of them! Here’s the breakdown of the types of puzzles included:

  • 300 Picross and Mega Picross puzzles
  • 150 Clip Picross piece puzzles
  • 30 Color Picross puzzles
  • 5 Extra puzzles

Finally, Jupiter confirms that Picross S8 can be played using the touchscreen.
