BAKERU – Ver. 2.0.0 [Japan]

  • Release date: November 13th 2024
  • Patch notes:
Main Game
  • Added new moves: Hurricane and Spinning Top.
    • The new moves are unlocked by progressing through the game. If you’ve already cleared the relevant stages, you will be able to use the moves right away.
  • Added enhaced version of certain enemies with new moves and attacks.
  • Added new conversations between Bakeru and in his friends between additional stages.
  • You can now check all the souvenirs you’ve acquired inside the Bunbuku.
  • Added a setting to adjust the camera speed (right stick) to the Additional Settings screen.
  • Adjusted Bakeru’s movement and attack speed and made them faster.
  • Adjusted how quickly the Henge gauge depletes so that it depletes more slowly (except for the Issun Henge).
  • Adjusted the Kintaro Henge so that the charge attack takes less time to charge.
  • Adjusted the Urashima Taro Henge by shortening the range of attacks.
  • Adjusted the Urashima Taro Henge by shortening the homing range of attacks.
  • Adjusted the Momotaro Henge so that the charge attack takes less time to charge.

Demo
  • You can now choose which stages to play.
    • Changed the stages featured in the demo so that they match the specifications of Ver. 2.0.0 of the main game.
  • You can no longer save or load play data.
    • This update disables save data transfer to the full version of the game.
      • If you have save data from the previous version of the demo (before this update was released), you can still transfer it to the full version of the game.
  • Added a setting to adjust the camera speed (right stick) to the Additional Settings screen.
  • Adjusted Bakeru’s movement and attack speed and made them faster.
  • Increased the speed and HP of enemies.
  • Adjusted the placement of enemies in stages to match the placement of new moves and made various adjustments.
  • Adjusted Evil Lanterns so that the cutscene that plays when destroyed only plays when the third and final one is destroyed (except for the Tokushima stage in the tutorial)
  • Adjusted the position of the camera, which is now closer to Bakeru.
  • Disabled the function that automatically centered the camera behind Bakeru.

Bakeru – Ver. 1.1.0 [Japan]

  • Release date: November 30th 2023 (Japan)
  • Patch notes:
  • Fixes the following issue:
    • After a certain amount of time has passed, and under some conditions, the game may crash in any stage or gameplay situation.

How to download updates for Bakeru for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Bakeru, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;

OR

  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
