Octopath Traveler: 4 secret classes revealed at Japan Expo

Yesterday, during the presentation at the Japan Expo 2018, Masashi Takahashi (Producer) revealed 4 secret classes for Octopath Traveler. Did you think that the 8 classes that were previously revealed were the only ones found in the game? Wrong!

There’s actually 4 more of them, but unlike the others, you have to find them by yourself, by progressing through the game. And it’s not going to be easy: those are really powerful classes, so it’s definitely not something you will be able to unlock within the first few hours of the game.

The 4 secret classes are:

  • Maître de guerre / Warmaster (Olberic): gives you access to the highest level for magical spells;
  • Augure / Augur (Alfin): you can support party members with all the support skills of the other characters (pretty useful for both defense and attack);
  • Enchanteur / Sorcerer (Tressa): allows you to use all the magic elements of the other characters;
  • Seigneur des Runes / Runemaster (Primrose): allows you to give your character pretty much any element, which is pretty useful when you want to take advantage of enemy weaknesses.

NB: those are English names translated from the French ones. The translation is not official, but the French names are. Also, the characters mentioned above are only those used for demonstration purposes, it does not mean they are the only ones who can get a given class.

Here’s the recording of the segment where the 4 secret classes were revealed:
