Nintendo to open official store in Fukuoka later this year; Nintendo San Francisco now open
Last week, Nintendo finally opened its second official store in the United States: Nintendo San Francisco. But in Japan, Nintendo already has three official stores, with a fourth one set to open later this year: Nintendo Fukuoka.
After Tokyo in November 2019, Osaka in November 2021, and finally Kyoto in October 2023, Nintendo decided to go south, all the way to Kyushuu, for its 4th official store in Japan. No release date is given (just a vague “Late 2025”), but given all other official stores opened either in October or November, it’s more than likely the store will open during either month.
Nintendo Fukuoka will be located at Amu Plaza Hakata (operated by JR Hakata City).
As for Nintendo San Francisco (which is loated on Union Square at 331 Powell Street), the grand opening took place on Friday (May 15th), with Doug Bowser (President and COO of Nintendo of America) leading the ribbon cutting ceremony. He was joined by Daniel Lurie, San Francisco’s Mayor.
