Nintendo: somes additional sales data for Q1 2016-17, best-sellers

This quarter, for the first time in a pretty long while, Nintendo didn’t have a single million seller on either the Wii U and  3DS. Unfortunately, the company doesn’t provide data for games that sold less than one million, so we don’t know how well the various other games sold during Q1 2016-17…

Next, here’s the latest sales data for the Wii U and the 3DS:

This also allows us to learn that the company sold 600 000 Wii games, and 140 000 Nintendo DS games.

Next, here’s the all-time best-sellers on Wii U and 3DS (courtesy of Ryng_Tolu) [NB: those are NOT the best-sellers during Q1 2016-17!]:

Nintendo 3DS

  • Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire – 400,000 (12.24 million)
  • Mario Kart 7 – 300,000 (13.56 million)
  • Pokémon X and Y – 280,000 (14.98 million)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time 3D – 260,000 (4.30 million)
  • New Super Mario Bros. 2 – 140,000 (10.39 million)
  • Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS – 110,000 (8.23 million)
  • Animal Crossing: New leaf- 110,000 (10.11 million)
  • Tomadachi life – 110,000 (5.09 million)
  • Super Mario 3D Land – 80,000 (10.81 million)
  • Luigi’s Mansion 2 – 60,000 (4.88 million)

Wii U

  • Mario Kart 8 – 200,000 (7.70m)
  • Super Mario 3D World – 190,000 (5.01 million)
  • Splatoon – 150,000 (4.43 million)
  • New Super Mario Bros. U – 150,000 (5.34 million)
  • New Super Luigi U – 150,000 (2.64 million)
  • Super Mario Maker – 130,000 (3.65 million)
  • Super Smash Bros. for Wii U – 100,000 (4.90 million)
  • The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD – 100,000 (1.82 million)
  • Mario Party 10 – 50,000 (1.81 million)
  • Nintendo Land – 30,000 (5.10 million)

NB: combined, Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS have become the best-selling Super Smash Bros. game of all times.
