Nintendo Switch sales (Japan)

Nintendo have announced that sales of the Nintendo Switch have topped 10 million units in Japan (according to their own internal data, which includes data from Media Create). This milestone was reached during Week 43, which ended on November 3rd. Of course, that number includes both the OG model and the Nintendo Switch Lite, though no data for any model is provided.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Nintendo have announced another live presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, once again hosted by Masahiro Sakurai. This one will focus on the next DLC character: Terry Bogard, form the Fatal Fury.

The presentation will be livestreamed on November 6th at:

  • Europe: 2PM
  • UK: 1PM
  • North America (ET): 8AM
  • North America (PT): 5AM
  • Japan: 10PM

Also, the next Software update for the game (Ver. 6.0.0) will be released “soon”… most likely a few hours after the livestream, like for the previous DLC characters. That’s when Terry Bogard will become available for download.

Finally, Nintendo have revealed the third Spirit Board Challenge Pack for the game, available exclusively to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers (as usual). This one includes the following:

  • 5000 Gold
  • 3 Classic Tickets

This year again, Nintendo have announced some special “Holiday sets” for evergreen Nintendo Switch titles in Japan, releasing on November 22nd. They include a game and some extras, such as a free Nintendo Switch Online subscription and/or an exclusive guidebook.

A holiday set has been announced for the following games:

  • Splatoon 2 (5 980 Yen): includes a 50 page Guide Book (with info about Gear Powers, Weapons, Stages, and more) and a 30 day Nintendo Switch Online subscription (Personal). The Guide Book is also sold separately via the My Nintendo Store, for 356 Yen;
  • Super Mario Party (9980 Yen): includes 2 Joy-Cons (Neon Yellow and Neon Pink);
  • Super Mario Odyssey (5 980 Yen): includes a Guide Book (same one as last year’s)
  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (6 980 Yen): includes a Guide Book (same one as last year’s)

Here’s some pictures:

Unfortunately, it’s not clear if/when those sets will be released in Europe and North America, as Nintendo are yet to make any announcements regarding their holiday line-up.
