Nintendo Minute (Fortnite)
Here’s the latest episode of Nintendo Minute, which is about Fortnite this time!
Hi! Very excited that Fortnite is available now for free on Nintendo Switch! We’re playing some duos today and testing our teamwork skills which you all know are not so great. Watch and see if we fail epically or clench the Victory Royale. Let us know in the comments below if you’ve been playing and your strategy on when to jump out of the Battle Bus. As always, thanks so much for watching and we’ll see you next week!

Summer of Fun
Earlier this week, Nintendo announced the Summer of Fun: a nationwide tour in the United States, in collaboration with GameTruck and Walmart.
From June 23rd to August 19th, the tour will stop at select Walmart locations across the country, offering people the opportunity to try out demos for Nintendo Switch games like Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Tennis Aces, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Nintendo Labo, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, and more. There’s also family photo sessions, and appearances from costumed characters like Mario.
There’s even sweepstakes to enter, in order to try and win a round-trip travel to the following Super Mario Odyssey-inspired destinations:
- New York City (Metro Kingdom)
- Denver (Snow Kingdom)
- San Francisco, near Redwood National Park (Wooded Kingdom)
- Mexico City (Sand Kingdom)
- The Caribbean (Seaside Kingdom)
You can enter the sweepstakes either at the Summer of Fun tour itself, or online. For more details about that, as well as the tour itself, make sure to check out the official website!
Splatoon 2 European Championship
Earlier this week, Nintendo announced that the Splatoon 2 European Championship would return in Spring 2019, featuring teams from across the continent. There will be various tournaments leading to that big event, and Nintendo UK did detail their own on their official website: click here for more details!
More details about the Splatoon 2 European Championship itself will be shared at a later date. Right now, it’s not clear whether the Splatoon 2 World Championship will also be held next year at E3, but considering two regional tournaments have already been confirmed (Splatoon Koshien 2019 in Japan, and the Splatoon 2 European Championship in Europe), it’s quite likely it will!

Nintendo @ E3 – Twitter
Earlier this week, Twitter shared some stats about E3. While Nintendo may not have impressed everyone, the company certainly was talked about during that week! According to Twitter, Nintendo was the most talked-about topic during the event, with Super Smash Bros. at #3. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was also the most talked about “newly announced” game.
But that’s not all. The following were the two “events” that generated the most conversation on Twitter during E3:
- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate release date is announced
- Ridley announced as newest character added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Finally, just like its competitor, Nintendo was #1 of worldwide trends during its presentation (Nintendo Direct: E3 2018).
