Mario Kart Arcade GP DX

In Japan, Mario Kart Arcade GP DX is getting a major update adding new content and features:

new playable character: Lakitu
new races: Banana Labyrinth, DK Jungle
new options for the face photo and the race results screen
Time Attack and Leaderboards added to Grand Prix mode (requires BanaPassport)

Nintendo has announced that Battle 3 of the Party Crash Bash event will take place from December 21st to December 24th. It will pit Helix vs Max Brass!

Splatoon 2

In the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine (released on Saturday in Japan), a contest for Splatoon 2 was announced. Readers of the magazine can try and design gear (headwear, clothes, shoes), and if they’re selected as winner, then the gear they created will be added to the game (5 runner-up winners will get a signed illustration by the author of the official Splatoon manga).

It’s a similar contest to the one held by Famitsu last year, with one big difference: to participate, they have to use the postcard that comes with the latest issue of CoroCoro magazine. Unfortunately, it’s not clear whether the gear designed by the winner will also be added to the game in Europe and North America.
