Nintendo Minute (Nov. 20) – Xenoblade Chronicles X Let’s X-plore!; artbook in Japan

Nintendo Minute

Xenoblade Chronicles XThe long-awaited Xenoblade Chronicles X is finally about to come out in Europe and North America: in fact, it’s coming out in less than two weeks (on December 4th)! To whet the appetite of JRPG fans who cannot wait to explore Planet Mira, Kit and Krysta decided to showcase Xenoblade Chronicles X during the latest episode of Nintendo Minute.

Quite obviously, it’s impossible to show everything in a 20 minutes video. The game is so vast that even if it was showcased in every single Nintendo Minute episode during a full year, there would still be a lot left unseen. In this episode, Kit and Krysta show some of the beautiful vistas, but also a little bit of the battle system.

Hi, we both started playing Xenoblade Chronicles X about a week ago and the game is just massive! We definitely wanted to do a Nintendo Minute on this but it’s really hard to show you everything in a 20 minute video. Maybe you guys can just hang out with us for a month while we play? Sound good? In any case, we decided to do a little exploring, show some of the battling and just generally talk about how amazingly beautiful this game is. Vistas for days!!!! Don’t forget to check out the Survival Guide videos for more in-depth information. As always, thank you so much for watching and have a great weekend!

Digital pre-order and data packs

If you live in North America, you can buy the game via the Nintendo eShop right now (or via Nintendo’s website). Of course, you won’t be able to play until release day, but thanks to this digital pre-order, you will be able to download the game right away. This will allow you to start playing at 12AM (ET) on release day, without having to wait for the full download to complete.

And it’s a pretty good thing, because the game is pretty big: it requires at least 21GB of free space on your external HDD. Xenoblade Chronicles X costs $59.99.

If you’re planning to get the digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, you might want to head to the Nintendo eShop too, and download the following data packs (listed in priority order):

  • Basic pack (2GB)
  • Enemy pack (2.7GB)
  • Player pack (3.6GB)
  • Skell pack (1.7 GB)

Those will significantly improve loading times when playing the game from the disc version. If you’re planning to get the digital version of Xenoblade Chronicles X, do not bother downloading those: you won’t need them, and they will only take up unnecessary space on your external HDD!

Artbook

On December 25th, Dengeki will release the official artbook for Xenoblade Chronicles X, called “Xenoblade X: Secret Files Art of Mira”. It will cost 3000 Yen (+taxes), and include:

  • promotional artworks, but also artworks from the Gallery section of the official website;
  • large amount of never-seen-before production materials for the characters, the world, weapons, armours, the Dolls/Skells, and ??? (unfortunately, we don’t know what ??? refers to)
  • lots of details about the development of the game, with interviews of the developers, storyboard for the cutscenes, and various other production materials.

The artbook can be pre-order from Amazon.co.jp.
