NBA Playgrounds finally revealed, out next month on Nintendo Switch (eShop)

Last month, various indie games for the Nintendo Switch were revealed during the Nintendo Switch Nindie Showcase. And on the infographic shared by Nintendo right after the presentation, there was a mysterious NBA Playgrounds game, that we knew absolutely nothing about… until yesterday.

Developed by Saber Interactive, NBA Playgrounds is an officially licenced, “high-flying”, arcade-style basketball game. It features all 30 teams from the NBA, along with an extensive roster of current and retired NBA players. Said players can be leveled up over time, allowing you to improve their abilities. Since it’s an arcade-style, players will be able to easily pull off hundreds of over-the-top dunks and moves.

Here’s one of the impressive moves you will be able to pull off:

NBA Playgrounds can be played in Single Players, but also offers some local and online multiplayer. You can even play against players from all around the world in online tournaments.

Here’s the reveal trailer for the game:

Wondering when this neat-looking game will be released? Well… sooner than you were probably expecting: next month! Unfortunately, we do not have an exact release date yet, but no doubt we will get one in the upcoming weeks (alongside some more details about the game itself!).

NBA Playgrounds (Switch – eShop) will be released in May in Europe and North America, and will cost $19.99 (most likely 19.99€). The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
