[N-Direct] Tank Troopers announced for the 3DS eShop, screens, more

During this console generation, Nintendo has already introduced several brand new IPs as digital titles, such as Dillon: The Rolling Western, and Pushmo. Yesterday, during the latest Nintendo 3DS Direct presentation, Nintendo introduced a new one: Tank Troopers.

As the name implies, you control a tank in this game. But unlike other similar games already available on the Nintendo eShop, it’s not so much the tank that’s important… it’s the the soldiers you chose to man it. Depending on who you pick, your tank will get various abilities:

• freeze attack
• paintballs to block the view of enemy tanks
• electrick shocks to stop tanks

Tank Troopers will be playable in Single Player, but also in Multiplayer with up to 6 players. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like there’s any online multiplayer, but at least, local multiplayer is compatible with Download Play.

Tank Troopers will be released before the end of the year on Nintendo 3DS, via the Nintendo eShop… well, only if you have a North American or Japanese Nintendo 3DS. For some reason, the game will not be available before next year in Europe. It’s not clear how much the game will cost.
