My Nintendo Store launched in Europe, vouchers available on My Nintendo

Last year, Nintendo launched its official online store in Japan, logically called My Nintendo Store. This store offers various games (including Limited Editions), consoles (including a special Nintendo Switch SKU, where you can freely choose the colours of the Joy-Cons and accessories), physical goodies, and more.

And this month, Nintendo of Europe rebranded its own online store, which is now called My Nintendo Store. While it does offer various physical goodies, the selection remains rather lackluster. Fortunately, Nintendo promises new arrivals sometime in September, though it’s not clear what will be added. Hopefully it will start getting more exciting offering than it has until now!

Right now, the My Nintendo Store is only available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain. Nintendo UK has already had its own online store for a while, so it’s no surprise there’s no My Nintendo Store for that country.

But the rebranding isn’t just to make people forget about the old online store (that not that many people knew about, to begin with!), it’s also now “compatible” with My Nintendo. Indeed, you can now redeem some Gold Coins for vouchers to be used on orders:

Unfortunately, there’s a couple of restrictions:

  • a voucher can only be used on 20€ minimum orders (excluding shipping costs)
  • you can only use 1 voucher per order

In Japan, Nintendo has offered similiar vouchers, but for specific rewards. Also, some items on sale on the My Nintendo Store were also available exclusively to people who “bought” a specific reward on My Nintendo, and it’s not clear if we will see something similiar in Europe or not.
