Monster Hunter XX: opening movie, Hunter x Hunter collab., footage

Monster Hunter XX (Double Cross) was first announced in October, in a special Nintendo Direct presentation dedicated to the Monster Hunter series. And after months of waiting, it’s finally ready to be released this Saturday (on March 18th) in Japan!

With previous Monster Hunter games, Capcom uploaded the opening movie just a few days before release, and naturally, Monster Hunter XX is no exception. If you’re wondering what the opening movie for this game looks like, then stop wondering right now and watch it right away!

Here’s the full version of the opening movie for Monster Hunter XX:

But that’s not all: Capcom also officially announced the Hunter x Hunter collaboration, originally announced in Jump magazine. It will allow fans to get the following:

  • Gon’s head (with a rather extreme hairdo)
  • Gon’s suit
  • Gon’s arms
  • Gon’s legs

And just like with all the other collaborations, Capcom uploaded a special trailer to showcase it! Here it is:

Finally, here’s some more gameplay footage for the game, courtesy of V-Jump magazine:

Monster Hunter XX (3DS) comes out on March 18th in Japan. Unfortunately, no European or North American release has been announced so far, and it’s unlikely there will ever be one (at least, on Nintendo 3DS).
