Monster Hunter XX to get a collaboration with Hunter x Hunter

Update: added a trailer and some pictures for the Hunter x Hunter collaboration in Monster Hunter XX!

Hunter x Hunter fans know pretty well they’re not getting an ending to their favorite series any time soon, but at the very least, they will be able to enjoy a really neat collaboration in Monster Hunter XX. In the latest issue of V-Jump magazine, Capcom reveals that players will be able to get some special equipment based on the protagonist of Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga.

To be more precise, it’s equipment based on the adult form of Gon Freecss (dubbed Gon-san by fans in Japan), that players will be able to get. There’s four elements:

  • Gon’s head (with a rather extreme hairdo)
  • Gon’s suit
  • Gon’s arms
  • Gon’s legs

Here’s some pictures showcasing that Hunter x Hunter equipment, along with a trailer introducing the collaboration:

Also, Capcom shared a picture of Tsutao, the special Felyne that players will be able to get from the Tsutaya de DS hotspots in Tsutaya stores (it will be available from March 18th to June 30th):

Monster Hunter XX (3DS) will be released on March 18th. Unfortunately, no western release has been announced so far, and it’s unlikely there will be one (at least, not on Nintendo 3DS). Don’t forget to download the demo version if you have a Japanese Nintendo 3DS!
