Monster Hunter Stories: more details, video, and screens for the latest DLC (Kumamon, more)
Today is Friday, which means it’s time for some new free DLC for Monster Hunter Stories. As announced on Wednesday, the Kumamon collaboration content is part of this new wave of DLC, which also features some “regular” DLC.
But first, let’s start with that Kumamon collaboration content:
- Special tournament rules: Kumamon (only Fanged Beast monsters can enter). If you manage to win, you will get egg pieces for a special egg, from which a Kumaashira (Kumazuros) will hatch. It’s a special Arzuros made to look like Kumamon, the famous mascot from the Kumamoto Prefecture. Its Ride Actions are Rock Smash and Honey Detection (easily find honey in the field), and its Kizuna Move is Kumamoto Surprise (a special dance that you can see in the video below);
- a Kumamon hat for Nabirou;
- a special background for your Rider Card.

As for the “regular” DLC, we have:
- Special tournament: Monster Hair Tournament (Rank: Gold). If you manage to win, you will get special hairstyles for your character. The hairstyles are based on various monsters. We have:
- Kelby tie (Kelby)
- Reia Cut (Rathian)
- Kuk Funky (Yian Kut-Ku)
- Boros Regent (Barroth)
- Ashira Mohawk (Arzuros)
- Reus Spiky (Rathalos)
