Minecraft: Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack, new update available, patchnotes

Update (October 5th, 4AM CEST): the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack and the new update for Minecraft: Wii U Edition are now available. Check out the patchnotes below!

Yesterday, during the Minecon 2016, Mojang revealed that some new content was on the way for Minecraft: Wii U Edition. First, there’s the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack, which includes an entire world (inspired by the myths of the far East). It also includes 41 new skins and 13 themed music tracks (that you can use in your own worlds), but also a special map for the Battle Mini Game.

On the same day, a new update for Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be released. It will add the following elements to the game (for free!):

• Polar bears and their adorable offspring are to be found wandering frozen biomes.
• Banners! Spruce the place up with your personalised drapery.
• New terrain generation: Igloos now appear in Arctic biomes, and gargantuan fossils lie beneath the earth awaiting your discovery.
• Beetroots! You can farm them and turn them into a restorative soup. Delish!
• Other new blocks: End Bricks, Grass Path, Frosted Ice, Magma, Nether Wart Block, Red Nether Brick and Bone Block.

Here’s the official patchnotes for Patch 13:

• Add new blocks – End Bricks, Beetroot, Grass Path, Frosted Ice, Magma, Nether Wart Block, Red Nether Brick, and Bone Block.
• Added new items – Beetroot, Beetroot Seeds, and Beetroot Soup.
• Added new enchantments – FrostWalker and Mending.
• Added new terrain generation features – Fossils and Igloos (in newly generated worlds).
• Add new mob – Polar Bear.
• Add Banners.
• Added Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack.
• Added sounds for Polar Bear, Witch, Squid, Snowman, Armor Stand, Cow, Horse, Item Frames, Leash Knots and Paintings.
• Updated all Texture and Mash-up Packs with new items & blocks.

Talking of patchnotes, here’s also those for Patch 12 (released on September 15th):

• Remove vote-to-kick function in Mini Games. The host can kick players only in the Lobby.
• Disable small, floating and oddly shaped skins in public Tumble games.
• Fix for Battle mini game showdown playing Tumble mini game showdown sound.
• Fixed a bug where last player to die in Tumble would get stuck respawning.
• Fix for being able to unlock Hunger Pain achievement by killing yourself while starving.
• Fix for crash if a client wins the match and then quits the game.

The Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack and Patch 13 for Minecraft: Wii U Edition will be released on October 4th in North America, and October 5th in Europe and Japan (release is simultaneous in all regions). Naturally, we’ve updated our Upcoming Releases page!
