Miitomo: new update coming soon (friend of friends invites, Everybody Answers events)

MiitomoToday, Nintendo announced that Miitomo would get a second update soon. Unlike the previous one, which only fixed some glitches related to twitter, this one will add new features. Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn’t say when the update will be released, but we can assume it will be sometime this week (and/or when the app is launched in Europe and North America).

Here’s the list of new features coming soon to Miitomo:

  • the ability to send friend requests to friends of your friends. You will not be able to invite non-Twitter/Facebook users directly, but this new feature will make it easier to invite people you may not necessarily be following on social networks;
  • “Everybody Answers” events, where everyone answers the same featured question. This seems to be Wii Vote Channel 2.0!
  • An “Online Answers” feature, where you can view answers shared on Twitter. That way, you will be able to easily check out the kind of answers other users are sending to their friends. Since this feature will only work for answers shared on Twitter, you should not have to worry about privacy (unfortunately, it’s not clear if there will be an option to completely disable this feature even if you share your answers on Twitter).

More details about the update will be available when it launches (hopefully, it does something about the heavy battery use!). Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn’t say when it will!

Miitomo (Android / iOS) comes out before the end of the month in Europe and North America.
