Miitomo: first update available (Ver. 1.0.2), fixes issues with Twitter linking

MiitomoMiitomo, Nintendo’s first mobile app, came out on Thursday in Japan (the first region to get it, as Europe and North America will have to wait until the end of the month). It’s actually off to a great start, and is even doing better and better: it’s now the most download free app on iOS in Japan (but only #174 of the top grossing chart).

Unfortunately, the version that came out on Thursday had a rather annoying glitch: the app would freeze/crash if you tried to link a Twitter account with too many followers/follows, or an animated GIF as avatar. Since linking your Twitter or Facebook account is the only way to add friends who are not physically present with you right now, this was a rather unfortunate glitch…

Good news: Nintendo released a new update today, which brings Miitomo to Ver. 1.0.2 on both Android and iOS. The official patchnotes only mention the glitch with Twitter linking, which was fixed. We don’t know if Nintendo changed or fixed anything else. If you’ve already downloaded the app, it’s strongly recommended you update it as soon as possible.

Miitomo (Andoird / iOS) launches later this month in Europe and North America.
