Mario Tennis Aces: details and screenshots for the Tricky and Speedy characters

The latest Nintendo Treehouse Log post about Mario Tennis Aces shares details about the last two types of characters in the game:

Speedy

Agility is their stongest point: they can cover the court in a very short amount of time, which is pretty useful when you’re playing against an opponent you are not used to, and you don’t really know when they’re going to send their shots. What’s more, with the Zone Speed mechanic, you can use your Energy to move even faster!

When dealing with those characters, it’s best to nail down the timing for Nice serves or execute a smah: those can knock back opponents a bit, and Speedy characters are more impacted than others.

  • Toad
  • Yoshi

Tricky

Those characters love to throw curve balls (literally and firguratively): all their shots have a bit of a curve to them, making it pretty hard to determine where they’re going to land. When using Slices, the ball can almost literally circle around an opponent at almost a 90° angle. Those Tricky characters sure live up to their name!

But be careful: your opponents can definitely use Trick Shots to catch up to a ball you’re hitting from them, so don’t just assume they’re going to miss it. Also, keep in mind that during head-to-head rallies, Tricky characters are at a slight disadvantage: they hit shots with slower ball speeds.
