Koei-Tecmo now developing game(s) for the NX platform

Yesterday, Nintendo announced that its mysterious NX platform would be released in March 2017 globally. The first officially confirmed game is the latest The Legend of Zelda entry (previously a Wii U exclusive), and there’s no doubt various publishers will announce theirs in the upcoming months. And today, during a meeting with investors, Koei-Tecmo confirmed they were indeed working on at least one game for the NX platform.

To be more precise, Koei-Tecmo now lists the NX (which is still a codename) as one of the platforms they’re developing games for. That doesn’t tell us how many games, or which ones. But based on the launch of the Wii U and other platforms, we can assume Koei-Tecmo is (at the very least) working on ports of various games. It’s possible the company is working on another collaboration title with Nintendo, maybe even another version of Hyrule Warriors.

Naturally, we will have to wait a little bit more before finding out what Koei-Tecmo is working on. The publisher usually supports new platforms from the beginning, so there’s nothing really surprising about this “announcement”. Let’s just hope that it will not drop support as fast as it did for the Wii U…
