On September 1st, not one but two guide books for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom were released in Japan: the Perfect Guide (by Famitsu) and the Complete Guide (by Dengeki). And in this post, you will find all relevant sales data for those two guide books, courtesy of Oricon!

Total sales

As of September 24th, the two books have sold:

  • Perfect Guide: 50,375 units sold
  • Complete Guide: 26,921 units sold
  • Total: 77,296 units sold

Week 5

During the 5th week, the sales for the two guide books were as follows:

  • Perfect Guide: 3,132 units sold, did not rank in the BOOK rankings (Top 30), and #2 in the Guide Book rankings
  • Complete Guide: 1,488 units sold, did not rank in the BOOK rankings (Top 30), and ranked #4 in the Guide Book rankings

Week 4

During the 4th week, the sales for the two guide books were as follows:

  • Perfect Guide: 4,552 units sold, did not rank in the BOOK rankings (Top 30), and #2 in the Guide Book rankings
  • Complete Guide: 2,125 units sold, did not rank in the BOOK rankings (Top 30), and ranked #3 in the Guide Book rankings

During the third week, the sales for the two guide books were as follows:

  • Perfect Guide: 6,582 units sold, #11 in the BOOK rankings, and #2 in the Guide Book rankings
  • Complete Guide: 3,282 units sold, did not rank in the BOOK rankings (Top 30), and ranked #3 in the Guide Book rankings

Week 1 and Week 2

During launch week, the sales for the two guide books were as follows:

  • Perfect Guide: 21,923 units sold, #4 in the BOOK rankings, and #1 in the Guide Book rankings
  • Complete Guide: 12,335 units sold, #5 in the BOOK rankings, and #2 in the Guide Book rankings

Sales remained quite strong during the second week, as you can see:

  • Perfect Guide: 14,186 units sold, #4 in the BOOK rankings, and #1 in the Guide Book rankings
  • Complete Guide: 7,691 units sold #26 in the BOOK rankings, and #3 in the Guide Book rankings
