Japan: Mario Kart 8 DLC now available for purchase via web eShop

Starting today, the Mario Kart 8 DLC is now available for purchase via internet… but only in Japan.

Even though north american users can buy eShop games straight from Nintendo.com (with the possibility of having them downloaded automatically on their console), and Japanese users can do the same with some selected online retailers, Nintendo still hasn’t launched an actual web version of the Nintendo eShop. That doesn’t mean the company is sitting idly and doing nothing, as Mario Kart 8 DLC is now available via some sort of web eShop in Japan.

If you happen to own a Japanese Nintendo ID, you can access the following pages,  check out and even purchase the two DLC packs for Mario Kart 8:

Mario Kart 8 DLC – Pack 2

Japanese users can now purchase both DLC packs straight from that web eShop, but unfortunately, that feature is only available to users with a Japanese Nintendo Network ID. Still, it’s a sign Nintendo is moving on the web eShop front, even though most of it seems to be for Japan and North America.

Here’s some screencaps:

The second DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 will come out before the end of May, and its developement is almost complete.
