[Japan Expo] Dragon Quest VII and VIII localisation reportedly announced by Yuji Horii

Today is the third day of the Japan Expo (the biggest event dedicated to Japanese culture in Europe), which takes place until Sunday, July 5th in Paris. Yuji Horii, creator of the Dragon Quest series is actually there today, and was even on stage for a Dragon Quest Heroes (PlayStation 4) promotional event.

And at the very end of this promotional event for Dragon Quest Heroes, Yuji Horii reportedly made a surprise announcement: Dragon Quest VII and VIII will apparently be released in French. Obviously, this means the games would also be localised in English (and some other European languages). He did confirm it would be for Nintendo 3DS, though the translator apparently got upset at that for some reason!

From the looks of it, this announcement surprised many people… including the staff at Square-Enix, as this apparently wasn’t planned at all. While the localisation of Dragon Quest VII and Dragon Quest VIII isn’t 100% confirmed for now (and therefore a grain of salt or two are recommended until we get an official announcement), it’s certainly a very positive sign!
