Indie news (May 5th, Round 2): Gang Beasts / Space Dave!

Today’s Indie news (Round 2!): Gang Beasts possibly coming to the Nintendo Switch, but also…

  • Space Dave!
  • World to the West
  • League of Evil

Gang Beasts

Could Gang Beasts be released on the Nintendo Switch? It’s certainly what James Brown (co-founder of Boneloaf, the studio who is making it) implied in an interview with gamesindustry. He explained that right now, the team is aiming for “every platform that makes sense”, and he seems pretty keen to bring it to the Nintendo Switch.

When the interview was conducted, the studio was having the initial conversations with Nintendo, in order to try and get access to devkits. James Brown even bought the console himself to see if the controllers would work with the frantic gameplay of Gang Beasts.

Here’s what he had to say about a possible Nintendo Switch version:

We get asked for the Switch and we are talking about it but there are certain things behind the scenes that we need to do – like optimising the characters – in order to hit that platform.

In other words: nothing is guaranteed just yet, but it’s looking good so far!

Space Dave!

A few weeks ago, when it was announced that Runner3 would be released on Nintendo Switch, Choice Provisions announced they had another Nintendo Switch game in the works: Space Dave!. And last week, the studio announced that this game was finally feature complete, which means that we should be getting a release date pretty soon…. hopefully!

Space Dave! (Switch – eShop) will be released later this year in Europe and North America.

World to the West

Here’s the first character trailer for World to the West, introducing Lord Clonington!

League of Evil

A few weeks ago, Ratalaika Games announced they were working on League of Evil for the Nintendo Switch (with the Wii U version cancelled, and the Nintendo 3DS still going). They even showed a picture of the game running on the console:

And yesterday, they announced that the Nintendo Switch version was sent to QA, with the Nintendo 3DS following on Monday. The level editor was updated, with support for dual-screen and the touchscreen on Nintendo 3DS.

League of Evil (Switch, 3DS – eShop) will be released later this year.
