With the Nintendo Switch, we’ve seen various developers and/or publishers who had never released anything on Nintendo platforms suddenly announce games for it. That’s the case of DMM.com (who has usually sticked to mobile and PC, as far as games are concerned), who will announce Gal Metal (title TBC) in the latest issue of Famitsu magazine, later this week.

This is the new game of Shuuhou Imai, who previously worked on Tokyo Majin Gakuen Denki and Kowloon Yoma Gakuen-ki. The following people are working on this game:

  • Shuuhou Imai: Director, Scenario
  • Toshinao Aoki: Character Design, Illustrations
  • Tak Fuji (yes, the one and only): Executive Producer

According to the early leaks from Famitsu, the themes of this game are “High School Girls Gachi Metal”, “SF yet juvenile”, “Metal Drums”, and “Rhythm Game yet Adventure Game”.

Gal Metal is to be released on Nintendo Switch in February 2018. Unfortunately, that’s pretty much all we know about the game so far, and it’s not clear just how much of the article leaked (which means we could get additional details by the time the latest issue of Famitsu magazine is released).

Here’s the preview from Famitsu magazine, that reveals development is currently 60% complete:

The latest issue of Famitsu magazine will be released on Thursday in Japan (Wednesday afternoon/evening for Europe and North America).

Gal Metal (Switch) will be released in February in Japan, and will be revealed at the Tokyo Game Show later this month. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
