June 2015

Ever since its launch, Splatoon has been surprisingly popular in Japan: it hasn’t left the Top 20 ever since it came out, with relatively strong and healthy sales. Therefore, it’s not surprising to see it top Famitsu’s Top 30 for June 2015, especially since the chart below doesn’t cover the last week of the month (when all the major releases were released, including Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright and Conquest).

First half of 2015

Unsurprisingly, Yo-kai Watch 2: Shin Uchi dominated sales during the first half of 2015, even though sales weren’t as strong as Yo-kai Watch’s in 2014 (when the franchise was still booming, so nothing really surprising). The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D also didpretty well, with 438 108 units sold since launch (which is significantly better than The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds).

Next, we have the list of Nintendo 3DS best-sellers (from the major feature in Famitsu magazine, last week). Pokémon X and Y is the best-seller, but Animal Crossing: New Leaf isn’t far behind. If you add digital sales, then it is the actual best-seller on the platform.
