El Hijo – A Wild West Tale

HandyGames have announced that El Hijo – A Wild West Tale will be released on March 25th in Europe and North America.

Here’s the latest trailer and some more details:

With tricky puzzles, shady monks, and dancing cowboys, playing through this gloomy, yet wholesome, adventure is sometimes quite challenging. What happens if a diversion fails and your fireworks hit the pecking chicken instead of an opponent?

El Hijo – A Wild West Tale is a non-violent game and an exciting story of a desperate child looking for his mother. The boy sneaks past different sorts of suspicious outlaws in a series of diverse western settings.

Instead of violence, this child’s imaginative playfulness is used with the help of his toys, which serve to distract his “opponents”.

Using the shadows to his advantage is a core element of the game, as the young hero will often have to hide. Various twists on familiar mechanics are often a product of the challenging and increasingly dangerous environments that the 6-year-old must traverse to reach his ultimate goal.

Snake Man’s Adventure

DosoSoft have announced that their debut game, Snake Man’s Adventure (a 2D action platformer), is headed to the Nintendo Switch. It will be released in late 2021 in Europe and North America.

Here’s some details, details about the characters, the list of key features, and some screenshots:

A wouldbe hero if only people would take him seriously, Snake-Man is on a mission to prove his super skills by saving the planet Earth from an alien invasion, even though he is an alien himself. Nevertheless, Snake-Man sets off for Earth where he meets a motley crew of adventurers and together they set about saving humans from an onslaught of Grandiots. Join the Professor, Sophia, her dog “Doggo,” Liam and Snake-Man himself to travel through four colorful environments, collecting items, power ups and achievements, and even fighting some bosses along the way. With a quirky sense of humor and an outlandish story, Snake-Man’s Adventure pays tribute to 90s classics while not taking itself too seriously and keeping it fun and simple for a younger audience.

Help Snake-Man save the Earth! …And maybe even the whole galaxy in this unique platform adventure. Make new friends from all over the universe. Explore numerous environments to find hidden secrets, but watch out for enemies and obstacles – it’s time to prove that a snake can be a hero too!

When Snake-Man hears that a planet called Earth is being attacked, he sees his chance to finally reveal himself to the world as the hero he is! He leaves his home, the snake planet, and heads towards Earth. But he is not the only one with this idea…

Help Snake-Man save Earth in a unique platform adventure with metroidvania elements. Discover a fantastic game world with photorealistic backgrounds, hand-drawn characters and hand-made levels. Fight a variety of enemies. Explore the environment for hidden secrets that help Snake-Man become more and more powerful over time.

Luckily Snake-Man is not alone – on his journey he will meet new friends from Earth, but also from all over the universe. This could be the beginning of quite an unusual team…

Snake-Man

Born on Snake-Planet, Snake-Man is convinced in his destiny to be a hero. However, despite his budding greatness, Snake-Man has never been taken seriously by the other snake-people on his home planet, and his attempts to prove otherwise have generally ended in embarrassing disaster. Then he heard about a planet called Earth and that it was in danger, and he seizes his chance to prove himself!

The Professor

The Professor is one of Snake-Planets leading scientists. He was the inventor of the “Conversion”, a genetic modification allowing the original snake inhabitants to grow arms and legs. Thanks to their humanoid bodies, the snakes quickly mastered engineering and started space travel. The Professor is always looking for test subjects for his new inventions and one day Snake-Man, looking for a way to gain superpowers, came along. Since then the professor has supported his super-efforts.

Sophia

Sophia is a college student from planet earth. Since she was a small child she wanted to become an international politician, as she always enjoyed travelling and learning from other cultures – little did she know that she would play an important part in saving Earth from an alien invasion. It all began four years ago, when her parents gifted her a dog. Since then Doggo has been her best friend, although sometimes he drives her crazy with his stubbornness.

Doggo

Doggo is the loyal Dog of Sophia, but of course he is more than that. Although he behaves like a normal dog from Earth, he is actually an agent from Dog-Planet, a world inhabited by intelligent canines. He is trained in espionage and covert operations in foreign terrain and is licensed to drive or fly any vehicle one can imagine. After four years on Earth, he is bored with living his life as a terrestrial dog and longs to lay aside his cover disguise once and for all.

Liam

Liam is a librarian and ancient language expert from the Count-Planet. He always wondered why his people, the Counts, isolated themselves from other species, perhaps because they were so technologically advanced or perhaps they just preferred keeping to themselves as intergalactic introverts. But then one day he found a clue in an old book. It seems like the Counts played a major role in the rise of the Grandiots, a simple-minded but violent species. When Liam heard that the Grandiots are trying to attack earth, he felt responsible and knew he had to help, even if it meant breaking the Counts’ centuries long isolation.

  • Platformer Adventure with metroidvania elements
  • Retro-inspired graphics and sounds
  • 4 different environments / climate zones
  • 4 different collectible items (coins, gemstones, hearts, heart containers)
  • Spaceship headquarter allows player to return in completed levels and restock lifes

Snake Man’s Adventure (Switch – eShop) comes out in later 2021 in Europe and North America.
