Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix

Yesterday, Circle Ent. announced their latest game for the Nintendo Switch: the latest entry in the Mercenaries Saga series, called Mercenaries Wings: The False Phoenix. It will be released this year worldwide.

Very little is known about the game, other than it will offer “familiar gameplay but a separate story and worldview” from the original trilogy. Circle Ent. specifies that it’s not an orthodox, and that you don’t need to play the previous game to fully enjoy this one.

Here’s a lone logo for the game (no screenshots or trailer yet!):

Nippon Marathon

Yesterday, PQube and Onion Soup Interactive revealed a new multiplayer mode for Nippon Marathon: Go-Go Trolley Bowling. Here’s what it’s all about:

Go-Go Trolley Bowling sees you and up to 7 of your friends battling it out for supremacy in an oversized bowling alley. Pick from 5 to 10 frames per game before taking a running jump into a shopping cart and careering headlong into the giant bowling pins below!

In true Nippon Marathon-style, however, things are never that simple – prepare for more of the game’s signature OTT physics to wreak mayhem on your attempts to score points!

Between each frame, randomised hazards come in to play. Wince as you smash through barrels and paper doors! Watch out as Shiba Inu enter the fray! Look on in bemusement as Disco Balls and carp look to send you into the gutter – and remember folks, it’s not the winning that counts, but the bone-shattering idiocy of how you lost, that’s important!

Nippon Marathon (Switch – eShop) comes out this Fall in Europe and North America.

Fortnite

Last week, Epic Games launched a video contest for Fortnite, called “FortniteBlockbuster Contest”. In order to participate, you have to write and direct the “ultimate Season 4 superhero flick” using the Fortnite replay system. Naturally, you have to use the heroes of Season 4, and feature their adventure.

If you win, your video will be featured in-game on the Risky Reels screen for all of the Fortnite community to see, and you will win a poster for your film in the Fortnite world, V-Bucks, and more. Check out this page for more details about the contest, including how to enter!

Speaking of Fortnite, here’s a video of The Playground LTM, now available:
