The Escapists 2

Announced a few months ago, the Nintendo Switch version of The Escapists 2 is almost ready for release. Unfortunately, if you were hoping for a last minute release in 2017, you’re going to be disappointed as the game will only be available from January 11th in Europe and North America.

If you really cannot wait to play it, you will be able to pre-purchase it on the Nintendo eShop from January 4th. The game itself will cost £19.99/$19.99/19,99 €, and it doesn’t look like there’s going to be any sort of pre-purchase discount.

Finally, here’s the latest trailer for the game:

Yesterday, EA shared an official interview with Andreas Beijer from Zoink Games, Creative Director on Fe. It goes over various topics related to the art style, such as the fantastical creature design, working with limited color palettes, his personal connection to nature, and more.

Here’s an excerpt:

Is working with limited colour palettes more fun artistically?

Sometimes it’s rather liberating to design with a set of limitations. It can make it easier to focus on what is really important with the design. In Fe we use color to tell the player different things, like where you are and which animals and plants have a connection.

Fe (Switch) does not have a release date yet. If you’ve never heard of the game before, make sure to check out this post!
