Fe announced for the Nintendo Switch, gamescom 2017 trailer

While Electronic Arts are mostly known for their annual AAA releases (such as FIFA), it’s not the only type of game they publish. In fact, in the past few years, they’ve published a few “indie” games as part of their EA Originals label, such as the fan-favorite Unravel. Their latest “experimental” title is called Fe, developed by Zoink.

Earlier this week, Electronic Arts announced that it was also coming to the Nintendo Switch (alongside the other platforms it was previously announced for). They also revealed a new trailer, to be found just below!

Fe is a game where you get to climb, glide, and dig your way through a dark Nordic forest. It’s filled with secrets, side quests, and mystical creatures for you to find.

The most unique feature of the game is definitely the “language of the forest”: by mastering various cries, you can befriend animals and plants, so that they can help you on your journey. The thing is, they all have their own distrinct attributes, abilities and behaviours, that you will need to unlock and traverse new areas.

A pretty interesting aspect of the forest is that everything is connected, and nothing is really what it first seems. There’s secret places for you to find, hidden artifacts to uncover, old ruins to explore, shortcuts to take advantage of, and powers to use. Exploring this forest certainly looks like a fun endeavour!

And perhaps even more importantly: Fe offers a lot of freedom when it comes to exploring the forest. You can glide from tree to tree, use stealth and agility to evade danger, hide in shadows, or even simply observe nature. A good thing to do is climb trees, in order to plan your next move.

But while the forest is teeming with animals to befriend and secrets to uncover, it’s also home to a manace called the Silent Ones. Throughout your journey, you will unravel the secrets of those mysterious beings, and help fantastical creatures. Via handcrafted short stories, you will learn the secrets of Fe’s origin. Your ultimate goal is to stop the Silent Ones for good, as they’re threatening the world’s harmony.
