E3 Live event announced, open to the general public
Ever since its creation, back in 1995, E3 has generally been an industry-only event. There has been some exceptions (especially in the past couple of years, with many fans being invited by publishers), but never a dedicated event made specifically for the general public. And it turns out E3 2016 will have one, called E3 Live.
Not only is this event open to the general public, but tickets are also free: you can check out how to get yours on the official website. Be careful though: they are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Here’s the event times:
Tuesday, June 14: Gameplay starts at 5 p.m. PDTWednesday, June 15: 12 p.m. — 10 p.m. PDTThursday, June 16: Doors open at 12 p.m. PDT
One thing to note is that E3 Live is a separate event, which does not take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. It takes place at a venue called L.A. Live (800 W. Olympic Blvd. in downtown Los Angeles).
Visitors will be able to enjoy the following:
Games
Test drive select gadgets, games, and gear.
Live Entertainment
Enjoy live music, dance competitions, and demos.
Interactive Experiences
Meet industry personalities, light up your social feed with one-of-a-kind photo-ops, see VR demos, and more!
Exclusive Merchandise
Purchase games, exclusive gear, and collectibles.
Unfortunately, it’s not clear which publishers will take part in that separate event, and which games they will bring. If Nintendo does attend, we already know that only the latest The Legend of Zelda game on Wii U will be playable.
