[E3 2016] Rhythm Heaven: MegaMix now available in NA, trailer, screens, more

Rhythm Heaven Mega MixInterested in Rhythm Heaven: MegaMix, the latest entry in the popular Rhythm Heaven series? Don’t really want to wait several additional months before it’s out? Well, you’re in luck: it’s available… now! Unfortunately, there’s a catch (two in fact): it’s only available on the Nintendo eShop (where it costs $29.99 / $41.99), and only in North America. It looks like European fans will have to wait a bit longer before getting the game.

For those who don’t know, Rhythm Heaven: MegaMix is a really unique rhythm game, with colourful graphics, and wacky atmosphere. Chopping wood, sticking viruses with forks, and playing badminton on a plane are but a few of the crazy things you will get to do in this game… in rhythm, of course.

The series is known for its simple controls and catchy music, and of course, both are back in Rhythm Heaven: Mega Mix. But this new entry also has some new features, such as the visual feedback system, which really helps nailing the rhythm down.

As far as rhythm mini games are concerned, the game features:

  • updated rhythm games from previous entries in the series (including those that were never really released outside Japan);
  • some brand new rhythm games made exclusively for this new entry;
  • music composed in collaboration with Tsunku (the famous composer who has worked on the series ever since the first entry);

In total, there’s 100 rhythm games to be found in Rhythm Heaven: Mega Mix (with both English and Japanese version of songs).

For players who like StreetPass, this feature will allow you to go against the punching robots of players met in the street, in 1 vs 1 battles. If you’re more interested in multiplayer, you will be able to play with up to 3 other players in local wireless. Together, you tackle special multiplayer rhythm games in order to earn Flow Balls. Those Flow Balls can then be used to purchase additional rhythm games.
