[E3 2016] Dragon Quest VII out on September 16th in the west, E3 trailer, more

Dragon Quest VIIDragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past is the 3DS remake of the PS1 classic, which was complete rebuilt from the ground-up (and not just the graphics). In this game, you will get to travel to the past in order to save the present. The battle system is turn-based, and you can make use of more than 30 different vocations (with their own spells and invocations).

Just like other Dragon Quest games, Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past features character and monster design by the one and only Akira Toriyama (of Dragon Ball and Chrono Trigger fame).

One of the new features of this 3DS remake is StreetPass: it allows you to send and receive traveler’s tablets, which are used to new dungeons. In there, you will find rare monsters, and unique equipment.

Wondering when you will be able to play Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past on your Nintendo 3DS? The answer is: September 17th, for both Europe and North America. In North America, the game will cost $39.99. Our Upcoming Releases page has been updated with this new date!

Finally, during the Nintendo Treehouse Live segment yesterday, Square-Enix confirmed that it was thanks to a petition from fans (from France) that they ended up localising this game. They initially didn’t have any plans to do so, due to the massive amount of text.
