Dragon Quest: DQXI coming before May 2017, DQM Joker 3 demo out in Early March

Dragon Quest 30th AnniversaryToday, Square-Enix held a press conference for the 30th Anniversary of the Dragon Quest series, in order to detail the various games and projects they have in store for that anniversary. If you missed the live, you can watch the full recording on YouTube (but due to the lack of any significant news, we recommend against doing that!).

First, Square-Enix opened an official website for the 30th Anniversary of the Dragon Quest series: click here to check it out! Obviously, it’s entirely in Japanese, and doesn’t have anything about/for the western markets.

Next, it was announced that Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 would get a demo in Early March in Japan. Unfortunately, we don’t know anything about that demo (contents, progress transfer, etc.). What’s more, it was the only piece of news about the game from the press conference, as the trailer shown was revealed at the Jump Festa 2016.

Finally, Yuji Horii confirmed that Dragon Quest XI: Sugiarashi Toki o Motomete would be released for the 30th Anniversary of the franchise, which means any day between May 27th, 2016, and May 27, 2017. That being said, nothing was said or shown today, which makes a 2016 release less likely than before.

Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 3 (3DS) comes out on March 24th in Japan.
Dragon Quest XI: Sugiarashi Toki o Motomete (3DS) will be released before May 27th, 2017.
